Diggers Forest School Nursery

Our South Harting Nursery is located south east of Petersfield on the West Sussex/ Hampshire border surrounded by natural beauty and in the heart of the South Downs National Park. This is the first nursery opened by Diggers Forest School and is set across stunning farm and woodland, using both private and public areas accessed by all of our children. This unique setting offers a wealth of opportunities for children, from pond dipping, tree climbing, and mud sliding to nurturing our vegetable garden and playing in our woodland den.

"Like everything Caroline touches with her green fingers, 'Digger' has grown from a seedling gardening club in our school to a well established Forest School run in many schools across Hampshire and West Sussex. It has become an integral part of what we offer at Steep C of E VC Primary School and we could not be without it."
Lou Romans
Headteacher / Steep C of E VC Primary School
"Thank you Caroline and to you all for another fantastic term of fun and mud – Fraser is looking forward to next term already."

Our location

At Diggers Forest School we’re extraordinarily fortunate to have unlimited access to safe, beautiful countryside in the heart of the South Downs National Park.

The Nursery is based on the edge of South Harting Village, in the shadow of Harting Down. Church Farm is truly idyllic, with its 400-year-old buildings, ancient woodland and clear silver stream. It offers children unique opportunities to observe and interact with nature in safe, secluded surroundings.
